Thursday, May 16 Evening:

Welcome Drinks – Please join us on our rooftop to kick off our celebrations

Time: – 09:00 p.m.

Location: Anthony and Saumya’s Rooftop in Polanco: Tennyson 320, Polanco (rooftop) Approximately a 25 minute Uber ride from the Downtown and Circulo Mexicano Hotels (Downtown Area)

Google Maps Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TnRycxXBduUSPQEq5

Dress Code: Semi-formal western attire- PLEASE WEAR WHITE! (think suits/sports coats for men and casual evening dresses for women). There will be no grass so heels are fine. Make sure to bring a sweater/jacket as it gets cold in the evening!

WHY ARE WE ALL WEARING WHITE?

The “Dîner en Blanc” is originally a French tradition that many Haitian families practice today. During celebratory moments, Haitian families and friends dress in all white to dine and drink together in the evening. Please join us as we re-create this Haitian/French tradition as we welcome you to Mexico City.

Friday, May 17 morning:

Margaritas and Mehndi

Join us for our Mehndi Event (for both men and women) as we cruise through Mexico City’s famous Xochimilco canals.

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Location: We will meet outside of the Downtown Hotel and Circulo Mexicano Hotels in Centro at 10:30am SHARP where we will board busses to head to the canals. We highly suggest you take the busses with us because it is very difficult to find the exact meeting point if you Uber yourself. Stay tuned to our whatsapp groups for the latest updates. Please note the drive to the canals is approximately one hour, so make sure to eat a good breakfast before hand and pack your sunscreen!

Please note this event is essentially a three- four hour boat ride (with lunch and drinks). We will make several bathroom stops, but please keep in mind the location of this event is not a formal venue as we will be on a boat. Get ready to day drink while getting your mehndi done!

Dress Code: Casual Indo-Western. Please wear yellow if you can (this is tradition for a mehndi ceremony). If you don’t have yellow, please opt for pastels (think light blues, greens, lavender, etc.). Ladies, please leave your heels at home for this event. Message us if you have any questions!

Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste applied to the bride’s hands and feet for positive energy. Indian wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held the day before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage. The bride’s wedding guests (both men and women) are invited to paint their hands with mehndi during this event. Please join us as we prepare the bride and groom for their big day ahead!
